SNAKE A FILM BY SEAMUS MURPHY
Seamus Murphy's short film "Snake" explores the poetry of Afghanistan’s women and will be screened to coincide withPoetry Magazine‘s June 2013 issue, which is devoted entirely to Murphy and journalist Eliza Griswold's coverage of female Afghan poets and the centuries-old custom of the "landay," or two-line poem passed along in the oral tradition. Murphy's images, previously unpublished, represent almost 20 years of work and travel throughout Afghanistan.
